Me-ommmmm Efurrybuddy! It's November and that means it's National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). Me and my brofur Ku pawticipated last year and we are doing so again. I yelped again and began to whimper. The burning pain was becoming too intense. The door opened again, but this time a woman came out, saying to the man that she heard a pup crying. She called out: "Here doggie, doggie!" And she was trying to lure me out of the dark with…BACON!

I came right to her, gobbled it down, and gave her big big licks all over her face as a thank you. As she petted me she felt the cut on my back. "What happened poor guy? I'll just have to take you inside to bathe you and wash that wound clean."

No, not a BATH!

Happy re-Birthday My Brofur Ku!

Me-Ommmmm Efurryone! I'm so excited to tell efurryone that Saturday the 11th is my little brofur Kuruk's re-Birthday! Yes, you read that right. You see, Ku was born at a puppy mill in Alaska and lived on a 4-foot chain his first couple of years of life. Luckily the puppy mill was shut down and Ku and his whole pack of nearly 160 snow pups went into rescue. That day was 1-11-11!

Before: Brofur Ku not long after the puppy mill when he 

was with his foster Mama. He was scared of efurrything!

After: Brofur Ku now as a happy happy pup!

When Mama brought Ku home, she decided that since no one knew Ku's real birthday that 1-11-11 would be Ku's first re-Birthday! So Ku is going to be 4!!! He's come such a long long way in the past three years. Me and Mama and efurryone are so so proud of my little brofur Ku! We wuvwuvwuv you Ku!

Fur his re-Birthday, Mama got brofur Ku and sisfur Nalle new XL beds! It was a pawesome find! Here, let me show them to you:

My Channelled Meditation Continues...

Me Meditating on Gratitude and
Petey the Pup!

Me-Ommmmm Efurryone! First this: In alignment with my duty to practice Karma Yoga and give of myself selflessly, I have volunteered to write a third chapter in the adventure of a pup named Petey on his quest to find his lost owner. This NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) writing club meets over to Rocco's House! This has been so fun! Thank you Rocco and Rocco's Mom for hosting this creative writing blogosphere project!

And this: Before I go into my meditative trance to channel the mind of a pup, I would like to say Happy Thanksgiving to all, even all my international devotees. I am thankful for all of your devotion and send you all my divine blessings and love for a life full of things to be thankful for! 

Can't forget that: Special thanks to my Mama for being so patient with me while I tirelessly work towards purrrrrfecting my yoga practice. As I quote in my book Daily Yoga for a Happy and Healthy Cat from the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, I-14:

Practice becomes firmly grounded when well attended to for a long time, without break and in all earnestness.

Me-Ommmmm, me-ommmmm, me-ommmmm………..

Chapter 28 of Petey's Adventure!

We all stared at the lights coming towards us. Beast and I kept quiet and the smell of treat crumbs on the ground was a bit distracting. The Lady, however, began to call out to whomever it was: "Help! Help! We're over here!"

Beast and I raised our noses into the air. Could it be? sniff….sniff….. It was! It was pizza! The man from the cabin in the woods must have come looking for us! 

"Sweetie, I'm coming!" he shouted. "I saw the string you tied to all the branches and followed them. I'm so glad we took that outdoors survival course last month!"

They embraced in a passionate Hollywood kiss. Enough with this mushiness! I started to bark and growl to let them know my owner and Beast's mom, oh, and those Three Stooges-like officers, needed to get out of the cold, wet, icy, dark ravine! The lovebirds finally let go of their embrace and began brainstorming on what to do. 

The outdoorsy man did not have a cell phone - too high-tech for him. They called down into the ravine but no one answered. Oh Dog! I hope they are ok. I whimpered and barked hoping my owner would respond. After a few minutes we heard fumbling and they all woke up. Phew! No one was seriously injured, but still stuck in the ravine.

Sniff…sniff….I could smell it before seeing it. The sun was about to rise…

NaNoWriMo...A Pet Collaborative Effort!

Me-Ommmm Efurryone! I'm following in my Brofur Ku's paw prints, and pawticipating in Rocco's NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) collaborative pet writing effort. This writing club meets over at Rocco's House.

This is a story about a doggy named Petey, and his adventures as he tries to find his lost owner! Owners are always wandering off! =^..^= MOL!

Chapter 14:

Beast and I arrive at Hissie's house out of breath from the extended sprint. We bark. And bark. Eat the cat food left outside. And bark. And bark... Finally Hissie's owner opens the door.

"Beast, what are you doing here? Where is your Mom? And who is this? You know you shouldn't be out wandering around in the middle of the night in the snow and dragging other doggies along with your shenanigans!" She yells.

She would have gone on and on and on... if Beast hadn't dropped the drool-soaked piece of paper out of his mouth. The lady tries to read it:

H~~~~ man~~~~HEL~~~~

Beast's drool had smeared most of the ink, so the lady thought a man was somehow attacking Beast's Mom. She runs inside to call the police, and then, holding onto our collars, runs over to Beast's house. We wiggled, and barked, and whimpered trying to tell her we were going to the wrong place, but, alas, she only understands cat talk, not dog talk.

At the exact moment we meet the police at Beast's front door

the sky lets out a thunderous roar and lighting flashes strike the ground. Oh dear, I do not like thunder! I peed right there on the lady's foot. Beast doesn't like the thunder either, and we both break free of her grip. We kept barking and running around the officers trying to get them to follow us towards the ravine. Will they listen?

Me-Ommmmm! It's been a busy week so far getting back to my regular yoga and meditation hourly practices after Speedy's Pirate Pawty, but Brofur Ku has been even busier! He's been working very hard to promote his book, Kuruk: The Little Bear That Could One Rescue Pup's Journey of Healing, so he can raise money for animal rescue organizations. He's been taking Mama and sisfur Nalle to pet stores to leave some of his business cards, he gives his cards out to other pups on their walks, and he's on tour around the blogosphere. One of the most powerful things a yogi can do is practice Karma Yoga, that is, to be of service and helpful to others, especially those in need. My brother Kuruk has published his book telling the story of his rescue from a large puppy mill in Alaska and of his healing journey. Here is what he says in his blog post:

Wooooohoooooowooooowoooooooo! I’m so very excited and thankful to announce that my book, Kuruk: The Little Bear That Could, is published and available for purchase. In about a week it will be available at both Amazon and Barnes & Noble, but until then you can order it through Create Space or by clicking the picture of my book cover!

The purpose of my book about the story of my rescue is to raise awareness about puppy mills and animal abuse, and to raise money to donate to rescue groups for all animals: pups, kitties, horses, chickens… I will announce donations on this blog as they are made.

My book is not too long, includes some haiku, and it is written suitably for the reading pleasure of both children and adults. Please help support our cause!
