NaNoWriMo...A Pet Collaborative Effort!

Taking a moment to contemplate
while writing.
Me-Ommmm Efurryone! I'm following in my Brofur Ku's paw prints, and pawticipating in Rocco's NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) collaborative pet writing effort. This writing club meets over at Rocco's House.

This is a story about a doggy named Petey, and his adventures as he tries to find his lost owner! Owners are always wandering off! =^..^= MOL!

I am the first kitty to contribute, so I will do my best to channel the mind of a doggy. Me-Ommmmm! If you are interested in pawticipating, there are still spots open! Here are the previous chapters and pawesome authors:

Critter Alley - Day 10
(brief pause between installments)
Bark and Lounge - Day 12

Chapter 14:

Beast and I arrive at Hissie's house out of breath from the extended sprint. We bark. And bark. Eat the cat food left outside. And bark. And bark... Finally Hissie's owner opens the door.

"Beast, what are you doing here? Where is your Mom? And who is this? You know you shouldn't be out wandering around in the middle of the night in the snow and dragging other doggies along with your shenanigans!" She yells.

She would have gone on and on and on... if Beast hadn't dropped the drool-soaked piece of paper out of his mouth. The lady tries to read it:

H~~~~ man~~~~HEL~~~~

Beast's drool had smeared most of the ink, so the lady thought a man was somehow attacking Beast's Mom. She runs inside to call the police, and then, holding onto our collars, runs over to Beast's house. We wiggled, and barked, and whimpered trying to tell her we were going to the wrong place, but, alas, she only understands cat talk, not dog talk.

At the exact moment we meet the police at Beast's front door
the sky lets out a thunderous roar and lighting flashes strike the ground. Oh dear, I do not like thunder! I peed right there on the lady's foot. Beast doesn't like the thunder either, and we both break free of her grip. We kept barking and running around the officers trying to get them to follow us towards the ravine. Will they listen?

Tomorrow's chapter will be by: Tenacious Little Terrier. Me-Ommmmm!

Man-Cat Monday: Brofur Apollo, the Little Lion Man

Me-Ommmmm Efurryone! I've been meaning to post about my brofur Apollo for Man-Cat Monday, but my nearly incessant yoga practice has, up until now, kept me from doing it. Today though I was able to take a few moments away to introduce you to my little brother (though I'm sure you'd all be pressed to suspect that I am older!) Apollo, the Little Lion Man.

As you can see, he has very handsome blue eyes. They make all the ladies swoon, but paws off girls, Apollo is taken! He's the Romeo of Dinnermintz at All Fur One And One Fur All blog. If you missed it, he guest posted his Shakespearean poetry to Dinnermintz here, and a love haiku to her over at Brofur Ku's blog here.

Besides writing poetry, he loves to birdie watch and sunbathe in the garden as well as in the glorious sun puddles in the bedroom. He's also a Mama's boy, and hogs the bed with Mama at night.

As you can see, Apollo has Siamese coloring, but he is only half Siamese. The other half is Norwegian Forest Kitty. That means he likes the rain and getting wet, loves to climb big tall trees (which he doesn't do much
anymore because he has Siamese hips), and has a lion's mane. That's why he's a Little Lion Man.

I love my brofur even though he buggies me sometimes. Thanks for meeting my handsome blue eyes brofur Apollo!

Chakra Balancing

Me-Ommmmm! Happy Caturday Efurryone! Practicing Yoga and Meditation is an excellent way to bring balance to the Chakras. Sometimes, however, it is helpful to have a Healer help you clear any blockages. Me-Ommmmm

Divine Devotion

Prayer and devotion to the Divine, Bhakti Yoga, is best done by chanting. Felines, being the most divine, are born already knowing the chant of the Universe: Purrrrr! Me-Ommmmm

Practicing Zazen

The more you practice zazen, the more you will be able to accept something as your own, whatever it is.

- Shunryu Suzuki

Everything around me is my own - the bed, the desk, the house... Though Zazen meditation is usually done in the seated position, here I am practicing it in the more beneficial reclining paw-paw pose, or Supta Padahastasana, which I discuss in my book. Everyone should practice this every day! Me-Ommmmm
